One of the things on my mile long to-do list for this year is to keep up with my blog.  I've tried before, but I get so busy, it gets neglected and forgotten about.  Something I wanted to share from the end of last year is an amazing experience that I had...meeting Rachel Vanoven and getting to attend her workshop.  I had a spot reserved for her March 2013 workshop, but there was a last minute opening this past November, and I jumped on the opportunity because I was already having a hard enough time waiting until March.  I can't believe that I'm just now caught up enough from the busy fall and holiday season to really go through my images from the workshop and share them.

So, two days before the workshop, I emailed her sister/assistant, Karis to secure the spot.  That Friday, my mom and 8 month old son rode along with me to Indianapolis.  Some of the group met that night for dinner (and sangria) to get to know each other before the workshop the next morning.  It was so wonderful being able to see Rachel work and practice the techniques I'd been learning in the previous months.  This was such a last minute trip, but one I will never forget.  I am so thankful for the opportunity and can't wait to see Rachel again.

Newborns were just something I did when they were on my calendar.  I knew the basics, but that was about it.  With Rachel's help over the past year, I've grown by leaps and bounds.  I cannot thank this woman enough for being so open, willing to help, and for just being real.  Not only did she help my newborn posing and techniques, she helped me learn to balance family life with my business.  Family should always come first, and it's ok to say "no".  I know that now, and I'm so much happier because of it.  So without rambling on much more, here are some images from the workshop, along with some from behind the scenes.  Newborns were posed by Rachel, photos taken and edited by me.
